BAGHDAD - Members of U.S.-allied citizen brigades, which are
credited with helping to tamp down violence in many parts of Iraq,
went on strike Friday in Diyala province, alleging that the
provincial police chief there is running a death squad.
The BBC paid a radical Islamic preacher who runs a terrorist
recruiting program, and some of his associates, to participate in a
pro-Muslim TV show called "Don't Panic, I'm Islamic." He later told
a BBC researcher of his association with the terrorists who planned
the failed July 21, 2005 attacks. But the BBC told her not to
contact the police.
On a dimly lighted stage, without scenery, the Stage Manager sets
up two tables, two chairs and two ladders. He tells the audience
the play's title -- "Our Town"; its author, Thornton Wilder; and
its setting, Grover's Corners, N.H., just north of the
Massachusetts line. The first act of the play, he says, takes place
on May 7, 1901, beginning at dawn.
Mariano Rivera told the New York Yankees he is accepting their $45
million, three-year offer and will remain with the only major
league team he's ever pitched for.
RESIDENTS living near Taree West?s Edinburgh Park are being
encouraged to report incidents of anti-social behaviour in their
neighbourhood, so that police have a better chance of acting
quickly to stamp it out.
